Introduction

Avago's Power PLCC-4 is an extension of its PLCC-2 SMT LED. Due to its superior package design, this package can withstand higher drive currents. Compared to conventional PLCC-2 SMT LEDs, this product dissipates heat more effectively. With increasing drive current, this LED series delivers higher light output than conventional PLCC-2 SMT LEDs.

These SMT LEDs feature higher reliability and better performance, designed to operate across a wide range of environmental conditions. This high reliability makes them suitable for harsh environments and conditions such as automotive applications. In addition, they are also suitable for electronic signage and signaling applications.

For easy pick-and-place assembly, the LEDs are packaged in EIA standard tape and reel. Each reel will be shipped in a single intensity and color bin (except red) to ensure high consistency.

These LEDs are compatible with IR reflow soldering processes. Due to their high reliability, they can also be installed using wave soldering processes.

These SMT LEDs are available in multiple colors and various viewing angles (30°, 60°, and 120°). Ideally, the 30° viewing angle version is suited for light pipe applications requiring concentrated intensity. The 60° and 120° viewing angle versions are best suited for automotive interior and exterior lighting and electronic signage applications.
