Introduction

The Littelfuse LSP10 thermally protected surge protective device is a self-protected device designed for transient overvoltage protection in outdoor and commercial LED luminaires. It is built using thermally protected varistor technology. Its integrated thermal disconnect function provides additional protection against catastrophic failure and fire hazard, even under extreme conditions such as end-of-life varistor degradation or sustained overvoltage. The LSP10 series connection options clearly indicate a thermal fault protection event by disconnecting power to the luminaire, signaling that the SPD module requires replacement. This SPD helps customer products meet the requirements of IEEE C62.41.2 Category C High location and the U.S. Department of Energy MSSLC Model Specification.
