Introduction

The MC34063 is a monolithic bipolar linear IC designed for DC-DC converter control applications. It integrates a temperature-compensated bandgap reference, a duty-cycle-controlled oscillator, a driver, and a high-current output switch capable of delivering 1.5A switching current. With minimal external components, it can be configured as a boost converter, buck converter, or voltage inverter. The MC34063 is available in an 8-pin plastic DIP package.
