Introduction

TL431 is a series of three-terminal adjustable voltage regulators with guaranteed thermal stability over the applicable temperature range. Using two external resistors, the output voltage can be set to any value between Vref (approximately 2.5V) and 40V. The device features a typical dynamic output impedance of 0.28Ω. The active output circuit provides a very sharp turn-on characteristic, making it an excellent replacement for Zener diodes in many applications. The IL431S operates over a temperature range of -40℃ to +125℃.
