Introduction

The DK5V60R20S is a simple and efficient synchronous rectification IC with only two pins — A and K — corresponding to the anode and cathode of a Schottker diode respectively. The IC integrates an internal 60V power NMOS transistor, which significantly reduces diode conduction losses and improves overall system efficiency, serving as a drop-in replacement for equivalent Schottky rectifier diodes currently on the market. It adopts an SM-7 package (compatible with TO-277). The IC features a built-in energy storage capacitor and self-powered circuitry, requiring no external power supply. When the source-drain VAK forward voltage is detected to exceed the turn-on threshold Von, the power MOSFET turns on; it turns off when the current drops to zero. An RC snubber circuit can be connected between A and K to suppress voltage spikes. During operation, the on-resistance of the NMOS transistor increases with rising temperature; increasing the heatsink area can help reduce operating temperature. In application, it is necessary to measure the voltage rating and temperature of the synchronous rectification IC.
