Introduction

Low-side overvoltage protection IC with an integrated 35mΩ low on-resistance NMOS switch, effectively reducing input voltage drop. Maximum input voltage up to 30V. The OVP threshold is externally adjustable and should be set below 12V. Two methods are available for setting the OVP threshold:

1. FB pin with voltage divider resistors: V_OVP = 0.54 × (R1 + R2) / R2 (V). R2 is recommended to be between 470Ω and 1KΩ.

2. FB pin with Zener diode and resistor: V_OVP = Vzener + 0.54V. Vzener is the voltage of the selected Zener diode. A 6.1V Zener diode is recommended, with a current rating greater than 5mA. When using a 6.1V Zener diode: V_OVP = 6.1V + 0.54V = 6.64V. This method offers the advantage of a more stable OVP threshold, less susceptible to variations in IC current and temperature. This method is recommended when the current exceeds 2A.
