Introduction

This device is a dual-channel ideal diode IC, with each channel supporting an input voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V and delivering up to 2.6A of output current. Each diode channel is implemented via a 70mΩ P-channel MOSFET, connecting INA to OUTA and INB to OUTB respectively. Under normal operating conditions, the forward voltage drop across each diode can be as low as 18mV. At a load current of 100mA, the quiescent current is below 25µA. If either output voltage exceeds its corresponding input voltage, the respective MOSFET turns off automatically, limiting the reverse current from output to input to less than 1µA. The maximum forward current through each MOSFET is clamped at a constant 2.6A, while an internal thermal protection circuit ensures safe operation under fault conditions. The device features two active-high control pins that can independently disable each of the two internal ideal diode channels. When the selected channel is reverse-biased or the device enters low-power standby mode, the status signal indicates this condition with a low voltage level. The device also provides an open-drain STAT pin with 12µA sink current to indicate the conduction state of the diode. When the STAT pin is pulled up to a positive supply through a 470kΩ resistor, a high level indicates that the selected diode is conducting. This signal can also be used to drive an external auxiliary P-channel MOSFET power switch to control a third backup power source when the device is not conducting. The device is available in a DFN10 package with an operating temperature range of –40°C to 85°C.
