Introduction

The SA01 amplifier is a pulse width modulated amplifier capable of delivering 2 kilowatts of power to a load. This full-bridge output amplifier operates from a single supply over a wide voltage range. It incorporates an internal error amplifier that provides gain for the speed control loop in brushed motor control applications. Current limiting is programmable via a single resistor. A shutdown input disables all four drivers of the H-bridge output. A precision reference voltage output is provided for offsetting the error amplifier. The error amplifier can then be scaled for standard input signals. The amplifier features protection against short circuits to the supply or ground. The H-bridge output MOSFETs are protected against overtemperature through direct die temperature sensing. The 10-pin hermetic power package occupies only 2 square inches of board area and is isolated.
