Introduction

MT7202 is a continuous current mode buck constant-current driver IC. It can effectively drive one or more series-connected LEDs when the input voltage exceeds the LED voltage. The MT7202 features an input voltage range of 6V to 50V and an adjustable output current of up to 1.5A.

The MT7202 integrates a power switch and a high-side current sensing circuit, using an external resistor to set the average LED current, and accepts analog dimming and PWM dimming via the ADJ pin. The IC incorporates a PWM filter circuit that achieves soft-start functionality by controlling the rising edge of the current. The soft-start time can be extended by adding an external capacitor between the ADJ pin and ground. When the ADJ voltage falls below 0.2V, the power switch turns off and the MT7202 enters a standby state with ultra-low operating current.
