Introduction

FM6047 is a driver IC designed specifically for LED modules and displays, featuring 16-channel constant current sink output capability. The device adopts a 16-channel constant current sink output architecture and integrates a patented "output clamp" technology, which effectively eliminates the first-row dimming phenomenon on display panels while preventing LED damage. FM6047 offers excellent noise immunity; its constant current performance and low grayscale display quality are unaffected by PCB layout. Users can adjust the output stage current by selecting different external resistors, enabling precise control of LED luminance. The device employs precision current control technology to achieve inter-chip error below ±3.5% and inter-channel error below ±2.0%.

During display operation, when the output enable signal is low, FM6047 latches 16-bit display data, allowing the system to continue writing 16-bit serial data while the current data is being displayed. Compared to general-purpose constant current source ICs, this design improves the refresh rate by more than 50%.

The device extends the FM6127 with LED open-circuit detection supporting up to 64-scan configurations, effectively resolving the cross-shaped display artifacts caused by open circuits. It also effectively eliminates ghost image artifacts, and improves color shift, mura defects, and first-row dimming at low grayscale levels.

FM6047 adds a frequency-doubling function on top of FM6127. In frequency-doubling mode, serial data input is sampled on both the rising and falling edges of the clock signal, which effectively increases the refresh rate while reducing the clock frequency, thereby minimizing system EMI.
