Introduction

PT6925 is an ultra-high-voltage linear constant-current LED driver IC with a maximum input voltage of 400V, designed to drive high-voltage, low-current LED loads. The application circuit requires minimal external components with a compact layout, enabling simple and flexible integration into various compact or flat-panel LED products. PT6925 delivers a constant current of 5~150mA; its 4-segment drive architecture significantly improves power factor, efficiency, and THD; meanwhile, the simple linear drive topology eliminates magnetic components, effectively avoiding EMI issues.

PT6925 employs a patented closed-loop control method to achieve constant output current regulation, offering excellent line regulation and load regulation, ensuring a stable average output current across a specified input voltage range.

To prevent IC damage from overheating, PT6925 integrates an intelligent thermal control function. When the IC junction temperature rises to 138°C, PT6925 begins to reduce the output current; when the junction temperature reaches 155°C, the output current is reduced to 0, avoiding the LED flickering issue associated with conventional over-temperature protection methods.

PT6925 adopts advanced 4-segment linear constant-current drive technology with a simple and practical circuit topology, achieving high PF and low THD. The LED load, IC, and rectified power supply are connected in series to form a current loop, with the output current set by the IC. When the input voltage is sufficiently higher than the LED load voltage, the output current remains constant; the excess voltage beyond the LED load voltage is absorbed by the IC, with a maximum input voltage of 400V, satisfying the vast majority of AC input applications. PT6925 also features 0–2.5V analog dimming functionality.
