Introduction

MT7860 is a high power factor buck LED driver IC. Operating in Quasi-Resonant Mode (QRM), it significantly reduces current and voltage stress while improving both efficiency and EMI performance. Using Mxtronics' proprietary quasi-full-cycle detection patent technology to sense the LED output current, ensuring high accuracy of the LED output current. MT7860 achieves intelligent dimming by decoding PWM and analog signals to regulate the LED current. High accuracy and consistency of LED current are achieved through an internal fine-tuning decoder. Especially at low dimming levels, the PWM control method seamlessly transitions from QRM to Pulse Frequency Modulation (PFM), ensuring minimal output current and low switching losses. In addition, MT7860 incorporates various protection features, including LED open-circuit protection (OVP), over-temperature protection (OTP), cycle-by-cycle over-current protection (OCP), and LED short-circuit protection (SCP), to ensure reliable system operation.
