Introduction

MT7842 is a high power factor, non-isolated LED driver IC. It achieves full-cycle sensing through a floating ground, high-side sensing, buck switching power supply architecture. With an internally integrated high-voltage supply circuit, MT7842 eliminates the need for start-up resistors and supply diodes, reducing overall cost. MT7842 operates in quasi-resonant mode, improving both efficiency and EMI performance. Additionally, through an internally integrated selectable maximum period control mode, it eliminates power-frequency flicker while ensuring sufficient demagnetization time. MT7842 integrates multiple protection features, including OVP, OCP, over-temperature compensation, and more, enhancing reliability. All protections are self-recovering. The built-in 550V high-voltage MOSFET simplifies the peripheral circuitry.
