Introduction
DR702Q/703Q are smart single H-bridge drivers designed for automotive applications, capable of simultaneously driving four external N-channel MOSFETs to control a bidirectional brushed DC motor. The DR702Q supports a hardware configuration interface, while the DR703Q supports an SPI configuration interface. Both devices support PH/EN, independent H-Bridge, and standard PWM interfaces, enabling multiple motor control modes including forward rotation, reverse rotation, slow brake, and coast. In addition, the integrated charge pump architecture supports 100% duty cycle output and can also be used to drive an external battery reverse-polarity protection switch. The DR702Q/703Q can also sequentially control multiple DC motors in a cost-effective manner via independent half-bridge mode.
The DR702Q/703Q integrate a current sense amplifier and include the capability to regulate winding current using fixed off-time PWM current chopping. Through integrated smart gate driver modules, the DR702Q/703Q protect external FETs without requiring any additional external gate components such as resistors and Zener diodes. The DR702Q/703Q combine protection features with gate drive configurability to simplify design and elevate the intelligence of motor systems to a new level. For example, configurable dead-time optimization prevents shoot-through, active/passive pull-down, and DV/DT gate turn-on; programmable slew rate control provides flexibility in reducing EMI. The DR702Q/703Q also integrate various protection features — UVLO, CPUV, OCP, TSD, GDF, watchdog timer, and more.
