Introduction

The FM1623 series is a high-precision protection circuit for single-cell rechargeable lithium batteries with built-in MOSFETs, integrating overcharge protection, overdischarge protection, and overcurrent discharge protection. Under normal conditions, the VDD pin voltage is between the overcharge protection threshold (VOC) and the overdischarge protection threshold (VOD), and the VM detection pin voltage is between the charger detection voltage (VCHG) and the overcurrent discharge protection threshold (VEDI), at which point the FM1623 turns on the built-in N-MOS transistor. In this state, the battery can be charged via a charger or discharged through a load. The FM1623 monitors the VDD or VM pin voltage (relative to GND) to provide overcharge/overdischarge protection. When a charge/discharge protection condition occurs, the built-in N-MOS switches from on to off, halting the charge/discharge process. Each protection state has a corresponding recovery condition; once the recovery condition is met, the built-in N-MOS switches from off to on, returning to normal operation. A delay time is defined for each protection/recovery condition — protection or recovery is only triggered after the condition persists for the corresponding delay period. If the condition clears before the delay expires, the device does not enter the protection/recovery state. The FM1623 operates at extremely low power consumption and is housed in a compact DFN-6L package, making it well-suited for space-constrained rechargeable battery pack applications.
