Introduction

LY4057 is a single-cell lithium-ion battery CC/CV linear charger IC with battery reverse-polarity protection. Requiring minimal external components, it is ideal for portable applications with a maximum charge current of 800mA. The IC employs an internal PMOSFET architecture with anti-backflow circuitry, eliminating the need for an external isolation diode. A thermal feedback loop automatically adjusts the charge current to limit the die temperature under high-power or high-temperature conditions. When the input voltage is removed, the IC automatically enters a low-current state with a typical battery drain current of less than 1uA. Additional features include battery temperature monitoring, UVLO, automatic recharge, and charge/full-charge status indication.
