Introduction

A complete single-cell lithium-ion battery charger featuring battery polarity reversal protection and 5V input power polarity reversal protection. Its SOT23-6 package and minimal external component count make it an ideal choice for portable applications.

The internal PMOSFET architecture, combined with anti-backflow circuitry, eliminates the need for external sense resistors and isolation diodes. Thermal feedback automatically adjusts the charge current to limit die temperature during high-power operation or high ambient temperature conditions. The full-charge voltage is fixed at 4.2V, and the charge current is set externally via a single resistor. Once the battery reaches 4.2V, the charge current drops to 1/10 of the programmed value and charging terminates automatically.

When the input voltage (AC adapter or USB power) is removed, the device automatically enters a low-current state with battery leakage current below 0.1uA. Additional features include power supply auto-adaptation, charge current monitoring, undervoltage lockout, automatic recharge, and two status pins for charge indication.
