Introduction

GN595 is a low-noise, low-power, high-speed CMOS shift register capable of driving 15 LS-TTL loads.

The device consists of an 8-bit serial-in, parallel-out shift register and an 8-bit D-type storage register with 3-state output control. The shift register and storage register are clocked by separate clock signals. The shift register features a direct clear input, serial data input, and serial output for cascading. Both the shift register and storage register are triggered on the rising edge of their respective clocks. If a single clock drives both, the shift register state must lead the storage register by one clock pulse. All input pins are protected by diodes to VCC and GND to prevent damage from electrostatic discharge.
