Introduction

The MS9601A is a 3-in-1-out HD signal switch chip supporting signal rates up to 3Gbps. At 3Gbps, it supports HD input signals at resolutions of 4K×2K@30Hz and 4K×2K(YCbCr420)@60Hz. The chip integrates DDC and HPD channel switches, which switch simultaneously with their corresponding TMDS channels. Two built-in voltage regulators power the chip directly, eliminating the need for additional power supply circuitry and reducing PCB area and BOM cost. For greater flexibility, the chip can be controlled either by an internal controller with built-in code or an external controller via I2C interface. Six configurable addresses are supported, making daisy-chain applications highly convenient. Input-side equalizers and adjustable output drive strength accommodate cables of varying lengths and quality, ensuring optimal TMDS signal integrity at high data rates. The chip also supports channel switching via infrared remote control or push buttons.
