Introduction

MS1858E is a single-chip solution for converting analog CVBS and S-Video signals to HD signals. The device integrates a 9-bit video ADC and a 24-bit audio DAC. It incorporates a 3D video decoder, high-quality on-screen display functionality, and memory, with support for video scaling. The chip also supports frame rate conversion and interlaced-to-progressive scan conversion. MS1858E supports both master mode and slave mode operation. In master mode, the chip is controlled by an internal controller and firmware, with optional external EEPROM for customization of common user functions. In slave mode, the chip can be controlled by an external controller via the I²C interface. The selection between master and slave mode is determined by the state of the MCUSEL pin.
