Introduction

SD2015 is a CMOS single-chip modem designed specifically for implementing the HART protocol, intended for use in field instruments and controllers that support HART. With only a small number of external passive components, the chip meets the HART physical layer specification requirements, including modulation and demodulation, input signal filtering, carrier detection, and transmit signal waveform shaping.

SD2015 uses phase-continuous FSK technology at a transmission rate of 1200 bps with half-duplex communication, compliant with HART protocol physical layer requirements. The chip's typical current consumption is 250μA at 5V and 150μA at 3.3V, lower than other existing HART chips. The typical bit error rate is less than one part per million — one hundredth of the HART protocol requirement. Both SD2015A (28-pin PLCC) and SD2015B (32-pin LQFP) comply with RoHS environmental standards. The chip is fully pin-compatible with the HT2015 or A5191HRT, allowing direct drop-in replacement of either device without modifying the peripheral circuitry or the PCB. When replacing the A5191HRT, no parameter changes are required; when replacing the HT2015, only one resistor value needs to be modified.
