Introduction

GM3088E/GM13088E are RS-485/RS-422 transceivers operating at 3.0~5.5V with ±15kV ESD protection, consisting of one driver and one receiver. These devices integrate a failsafe circuit that ensures the receiver output is a logic high when the receiver inputs are open or shorted. If all transmitters on the terminated bus are disabled (high-impedance state), the receiver also outputs a logic high. The GM13088E features hot-plug capability to eliminate false transitions on the bus during power-up or hot insertion. The GM3088E/GM13088E support data rates up to 16Mbps. These devices are well-suited for half-duplex communication, with a supply current of only 0.5mA under no-load conditions or with the driver disabled at full load. The GM3088E/GM13088E receiver input impedance is 1/8 unit load, allowing up to 256 transceivers on the bus. These devices are available in SOP8, MSOP8, and DFN packages.
