Introduction

SN65LBC184DR is an RS-485 transceiver operating from a 4.5V~5.5V wide supply voltage, with bus port ESD protection up to 15kV HBM, a bus voltage range of ±15V, half-duplex, low-power operation, and full compliance with TIA/EIA-485 standard requirements. It integrates one driver and one receiver, both of which can be independently enabled or disabled. When both are disabled, the driver and receiver outputs enter a high-impedance state. With 1/8 unit load, up to 256 SN65LBC184DR transceivers can be connected in parallel on the same communication bus. Error-free data transmission at up to 10Mbps is supported. Operating voltage is 3.3V, with fail-safe, current limiting, and overvoltage protection features.
