Introduction

HD588E is a 3.3V/5V, half-duplex, ±16kV ESD-protected RS-485/RS-422 transceiver IC containing one driver and one receiver.

HD588E features enhanced slew rate limiting to reduce output EMI and reflections caused by mismatched terminations, enabling error-free data transmission at 1Mbps.

The receiver input impedance is 1/8 unit load, allowing up to 256 transceivers to be connected on the bus for half-duplex communication. All driver outputs provide ±16kV HBM ESD protection. The device is available in an 8-pin SO package and operates over a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
