Introduction

U-GAGE chemically resistant ultrasonic sensors feature a factory-installed PTFE flange and a membrane coating bonded to the transducer, providing protection in harsh environments. The flange is sealed to the sensor face via a fluoroelastomer O-ring; O-rings of other materials may also be specified. These models share the same performance specifications as their corresponding standard models, but with reduced sensing range. Sensor dimensions and mounting differ slightly from the corresponding standard models. The sensor can be threaded directly into the side of a tank, or mounted in an unthreaded hole using the included threaded nut. The recommended through-hole diameter is 56.5 mm ± 0.5 mm for QT50U models and 36.5 mm ± 0.5 mm for T30U models. For unthreaded holes, install the O-ring onto the flange and insert the flange fully into the hole until the sensor face is flush against the outer tank surface. Place the second O-ring into the groove of the PTFE nut, thread the nut onto the flange, and tighten to eliminate any gap between the flange and the tank surface, ensuring full O-ring compression.
