Introduction

MP118 is an SMT operational amplifier offering a cost-effective solution for numerous industrial applications. It delivers exceptional performance comparable to much more expensive hybrid components, while occupying a board area of only approximately 26 cm² (4 in²). The MP118's 140 kHz power bandwidth and 10A output capability make it an ideal choice for piezoelectric transducer drive applications. The device is built on a thermally conductive yet electrically insulating substrate and can be mounted to a heatsink. The MP118 is based on the MP108 design, but offers lower quiescent current consumption along with new features that enhance system protection. The newly introduced overcurrent protection and temperature monitoring circuits can shut down the system before any permanent damage occurs.
