Introduction

RT8295A is a high-efficiency monolithic synchronous step-down DC/DC converter capable of delivering up to 2A of output current from a 4.5V to 23V input supply. The current-mode architecture and external compensation of the RT8295A allow optimization of transient response over a wide range of loads and output capacitors. Cycle-by-cycle current limiting protects against output short circuits, and soft-start eliminates input current surges during startup. The RT8295A also features undervoltage protection and thermal shutdown. A low-current (< 3μA) shutdown mode disconnects the output, facilitating power management in battery-powered systems. The RT8295A is available in an SOP-8 (Exposed Pad) package.
