Introduction

This device is designed for applications requiring low self-noise (high SNR), wide dynamic range, low distortion, and a high acoustic overload point. Its low cutoff frequency makes it ideal for active noise cancellation applications. Infineon's MEMS technology, based on a miniaturized microphone design, achieves high linearity of the output signal over a wide dynamic range. With its low equivalent noise floor, the microphone is no longer the limiting factor in the audio signal chain and enables higher performance of voice recognition algorithms. The digital microphone ASIC incorporates a microphone-specific THD compensation algorithm optimized for performance at high SPL, an ultra-low-noise preamplifier, and a high-performance Σ-Δ ADC. Tight manufacturing tolerances, combined with calibration of each device using Infineon's advanced calibration algorithm, achieve minimal sensitivity and phase matching tolerances. This makes it well suited for beamforming arrays and multi-microphone applications.
