Introduction

8-pin industrial connectors for manufacturing environments shall meet or exceed ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 Category 6 performance requirements. Embedded RJ45 jacks and plugs shall incorporate IP67/68-rated sealing, designed to prevent dust ingress and temporary water immersion, as commonly encountered in harsh industrial environments. Tethered protective caps shall ensure IP67/68 protection for connectors and plugs in the unmated state. Secondary seals on connectors and plugs shall provide an additional environmental barrier. Termination to 4-pair 24 AWG 100-ohm twisted-pair cable requires no punch-down tool. IP67/68 protection shall be achieved when mated with IP67/68 and NEMA UL Type 12, 6/6P, 4X industrial-grade bayonet-style patch cords.

Applications
