Introduction

Surge Protective Devices (SPDs) protect equipment against transient overvoltage events lasting microseconds. By clamping overvoltages to within equipment-safe levels during these events, costly damage and downtime can be reduced. SPDs for solar string combiner box and inverter applications are available in 1100 V and 1500 V DC ratings in a 3+0 configuration.
