Introduction

Littelfuse's LSP05G thermally protected surge protective device is designed for outdoor, commercial, and industrial LED luminaires. It incorporates Littelfuse's thermally protected varistor technology, functioning as a self-protecting device to help prevent end-of-life issues associated with varistors and problems related to sustained overvoltage conditions. It also provides high line-to-ground resistance for faster production line testing. The LSP05G series option provides a clear indication of thermal fault protection by disconnecting power to the luminaire, signaling the need for SPD module replacement. The LSP05G SPD helps customers' products comply with IEEE C62.41.2 Location Category C Low, ANSI C136.2, and the U.S. Department of Energy MSSLC Model Specification.
