Introduction

The nVent ERICO SES40P series surge protective devices (SPDs) provide cost-effective protection against destructive transients and surge events. These Type 1 devices are UL 8 Listed, compliant with UL 1449 4th Edition and CSA 22.2 No. 269.1-17 standards. This allows installation on either the line side or load side of distribution panels (Type 1 or Type 2) per NEC or CSA 22.2 No. 269.1-17 standards, with no additional circuit breaker or fuse required. Primary applications include service entrance, branch, commercial, industrial, and residential installations. Additional applications include OEM panels, solar combiner boxes, UL 96A lightning protection systems, and light pole applications. The enclosure is constructed from UV-resistant thermoplastic rated UL 50 Type 4X, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications. All models feature a nominal discharge current rating of 20kA, the highest level recognized under UL 1449 4th Edition.
