Introduction

Surge protectors provide equipment protection against sustained microsecond-level transient overvoltage events. By clamping overvoltage to within device-tolerable levels during an event, costly damage and downtime are mitigated. Surge protectors for solar string combiner box and inverter applications are available in 1100 V and 1500 V DC voltage versions in a 3+0 configuration.
