Introduction

Surge protective devices (SPDs) protect equipment from transient overvoltage events lasting sustained microseconds. By limiting the overvoltage applied to equipment during these events, costly equipment damage and downtime can be reduced. The SPDs used in this configuration are suitable for secondary distribution board applications with rated voltages from 60V to 600V.
