Introduction

The BSPD series surge protective devices have been tested by Underwriters Laboratories and comply with UL 1449 4th Edition, helping to ensure equipment utilizes highly reliable surge protection technology. The series offers delta and wye system units in three configurations for increased application flexibility. The BSPD series is designed for installation on the exterior of electrical enclosures or panelboards; deploying these units throughout a facility helps ensure equipment remains protected.

• BSPD utilizes Bussmann series SurgePOD thermally protected MOV technology to safely divert overvoltage to ground, with thermal disconnection eliminating the need for additional fuses
• 200kA SCCR meets the highest NEC requirements
• Models available for overvoltage protection in 208 to 600V, three-phase wye and delta electrical systems
• Per UL 1449 4th Edition, BSPD nominal discharge current (In) up to 20kA — this rating indicates the SPD's ability to handle multiple high-magnitude surges within a short period while remaining operational
• Surge current capacity (Imax) of 120kA to 400kA, meeting the demands of large switchgear and distribution board applications
• Optional Form C contact relay, EMI/RFI filtering, and surge counter available to meet additional system requirements
