Introduction

The Honeywell CX Series microswitch is designed for outdoor use in hazardous environments. The enclosures are capable of withstanding the pressure generated by an internal explosion. The flame channels cool the explosive gases to below the minimum safe operating temperature of the surrounding gases.

The 80CX Series switches feature a rugged bronze enclosure designed to resist saltwater and other corrosive environments. In addition to meeting the NEMA enclosure standards satisfied by other CX switches, they also comply with NEMA 4X requirements for corrosion protection.

The O-ring seals on this product make the enclosure rainproof, while being located outside the required flame channels, so the explosion-proof requirements are still met. Unless specifically ordered, all basic switches can be operated in both clockwise and counterclockwise rotation. The actuator can be adjusted in the field for clockwise or counterclockwise operation only, without the use of tools.
