Take your sonar outdoors — perfect for all-weather robotics! The XL-MaxSonar-WRMA1 ignores smaller targets and reports only the range of the target with the maximum acoustic echo. This is our most advanced weatherproof sensor, designed for target detection and ranging in outdoor, tank, or bin applications. The weatherproof XL-MaxSonar-WRMA1 is a rugged ultrasonic sensor component module. This outdoor sensor provides very short to long range detection and ranging in a compact, rugged PVC housing. The ultrasonic sensor meets IP67 waterproof standards and is compatible with standard 3/4-inch PVC electrical conduit fittings. High output acoustic power is combined with continuously variable gain, real-time background auto-calibration, real-time waveform signature analysis, and noise rejection algorithms to deliver nearly noise-free range readings — even in the presence of multiple sources of acoustic or electrical noise. XL-MaxSonar-WR sensors are factory-calibrated to match a narrow sensor beam pattern and provide a reliable long-range detection zone.
