Introduction

The LV-MaxSonar-EZ series ultrasonic ranging sensors operate on 2.5V to 5.5V supply voltage, delivering object detection and ranging from very close to long distances in a highly compact package. The sensor detects objects within a range of 0 inches to 254 inches (6.45 meters), providing sonar distance readings from 6 inches to 254 inches with 1-inch resolution. Objects within 0 inches to 6 inches are typically reported as 6 inches. Interface output formats include pulse width output, analog voltage output, and RS232 serial output. Factory calibration and testing are performed using flat objects.
