Introduction
URM37 V5.0 is a powerful ultrasonic sensor module with built-in temperature compensation, ensuring accurate distance measurement in applications with varying temperatures. It features rich interfaces and supports multiple output modes, including analog output, switch, serial (TTL and RS232 selectable), and PWM. In analog mode, the sensor outputs a voltage proportional to distance, compatible with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and LattePanda (Windows 10 development board). The module can measure servo rotation angles and, when connected to an external servo, transforms into a spatial ultrasonic scanner. The URM37 has been on the market for many years, serving important roles across various fields, and has been continuously optimized and improved. This version (V5.0) maintains mechanical dimensions, pin interfaces, and communication commands compatible with previous versions. Improvements over previous versions include: measurement range extended from 5 ~ 500 cm to 2 ~ 800 cm; highly stable ranging performance within a supply voltage range of 3.3V ~ 5.5V. The URM37 V5.0 ultrasonic sensor offers enhanced intelligence while maintaining mechanical dimensions, pin interfaces, and communication commands compatible with V4.0. Key improvements: improved ranging method for longer and more stable measurements; RS232 serial interface for higher reliability, enabling data collection via PC serial port and simplified communication programming; serial level selectable via jumper or button, allowing easy switching between RS232 and TTL output (effective after restart); distance measurement available via PWM output, simplifying module usage; a preset comparison value enables the COMP/Trig pin to output low level when the measured distance falls below the preset value in auto-measurement mode, allowing the module to function as an ultrasonic proximity switch; servo control capability enables combination with a servo for 180° scanning of obstacles in the 0 ~ 180° range in non-auto-measurement mode; 123 bytes of EEPROM for data retention after power-off; built-in temperature compensation circuit for improved measurement accuracy; built-in temperature measurement component for reading ambient temperature with 0.1℃ resolution. Additional features include reverse polarity protection, adjustable auto-measurement interval, and analog voltage output proportional to measured distance.
