Introduction

Ultrasonic sensors emit ultrasonic pulses and calculate the distance between the sensor and the target object by measuring the time for the ultrasonic pulse to reach the object and return to the transducer. They are widely used for detecting displacement, thickness, distance, water level, material level, and transparent objects. The URM06 Analog Ultrasonic Sensor provides ultra-short to long-range detection and ranging from 20cm to 10m, housed in a compact, rugged PVC enclosure compatible with 35mm conduit mounting. It features an analog interface and delivers high acoustic power output during operation. This ultrasonic sensor can detect objects within a range of 20cm to 1000cm and provides distance information with a resolution of 1cm. The URM06 has a beam angle of 15 degrees with excellent receive sensitivity, performing best when detecting soft targets. Similar sensors are widely used in professional mobile robotic systems such as Pioneer robots. The URM06 series sensors represent the best ultrasonic sensors on the market in terms of beam angle, sensitivity, and accuracy.
