Introduction

The HC-SR04 ultrasonic distance sensor is common in robotics projects and can also be used in automation, interactive art, and motion sensing. It operates at a range of approximately 2cm to 400cm, with optimal performance between 10cm and 250cm. The sensor is fast, easy to use, and low-cost. For best results, it requires a 5V power supply; the trigger signal can be 3V or 5V, but the echo signal is at 5V logic level, so two 10K resistors are included to convert the 5V logic level to 2.5V. Compatible with Arduino, CircuitPython (for microcontrollers or Raspberry Pi), or MakeCode.
