Introduction

The BAS series are automotive-grade aerosol sensors that use light scattering principles to detect and report thermal runaway events in lithium-ion battery packs. They detect the presence and concentration of aerosols such as smoke, liquid, and debris in enclosed lithium-ion battery packs — early indicators of thermal runaway events. The BAS series measures and reports aerosol concentrations from 200μg/m³ to 10000μg/m³ using CAN communication protocol. They feature a factory-programmed thermal runaway warning threshold of 5000μg/m³. These products are designed to meet higher quality and reliability requirements and are RoHS compliant.
