Introduction

The ProxSense series capacitive touchpad modules deliver best-in-class sensitivity, SNR, and low power consumption. Auto-tuning of the sensing electrodes ensures optimal operation across production variations and environmental changes. The touchpad modules are manufactured using FR4 PCB material compliant with RoHS2 and REACH standards. The module PCB thickness is 1mm, with ENIG surface finish, featuring thermocompression bonding pads and an FPC connector. Standard modules are not halogen-free. All 6 available modules share the following PCB specifications: 2-layer FR4 PCB (non-halogen-free material), 35μm copper (1 oz copper) conductors, ENIG surface finish, dimensions vary by module, final PCB thickness of 1.0mm ± 10%, and precision die-cut profiles. The modules are equipped with double-sided adhesive for easy integration. TPS65 and TPS43 are optimized for overlay thicknesses of 0.2 – 1.2mm. The TPS43 is a 43mm × 40mm rounded-rectangle touchpad, and the TPS65 is a 65mm × 49mm rounded-rectangle touchpad. Both TPS65 and TPS43 support filtered XY coordinates for up to 5 fingers, suitable for mouse pointer applications, with gesture recognition support.
