Introduction

The new SensComp smart sensor is based on the ultra-sensitive 600 Series electrostatic ultrasonic transducer product line, with an upgraded 6500 ranging module onboard. A new voltage regulation circuit enables the sensor to operate from a 6 to 24 VDC power supply. The TTL-compatible open-collector output includes a pull-up resistor. The new oscillator circuit configuration allows the device to be externally triggered or to sense continuously at 5 Hz. Digitally controlled gain and variable bandwidth amplifiers minimize noise and sidelobe detection in sonar applications. Typical absolute accuracy is ±1% of reading across the full measurement range. This new compact integrated design of the SensComp 600 Series smart sensor will accelerate the product development process.
