Introduction

The Thermometrics series self-adhesive surface temperature sensors are designed for industrial HVACR applications, typically mounted on the outer walls of water tanks or boiler storage vessels. They are also suitable for storage vessels used with solar water heating systems. This series of adhesive pad sensors can detect overheating caused by faults or dry-firing conditions.

The pressure-sensitive adhesive tape is filled with ceramic powder for high thermal conductivity, enabling efficient heat transfer from the heat source to the NTC thermistor while maintaining appropriate dielectric strength. The foam-backed tape with adhesive liner offers moisture and air resistance, with optional WRC (5470) water safety certification and DIN 4102 Part 1 (B3) fire safety certification.

Applications

• Mounting on hot water tank The sensor is designed for primarily dry environments, particularly suited for residential applications, and can be placed between the tank and insulation jacket. The sensor should not be installed externally where it may be exposed to wind, rain, or direct sunlight. Residual oil on metal tank surfaces from the drawing process may cause loss of adhesion. Oil residue should be removed before installing the sensor.
