Introduction

STK36C61-A is a device that integrates a color (RGB) and infrared light-to-digital converter with a built-in infrared LED and I²C interface. The device provides both color (RGB) light sensing for reliable backlight/display brightness control and infrared sensing for proximity estimation with interrupt capability. For color (RGB) sensing, the STK36C61-A integrates a photodiode, timing controller, and ADC on a single chip. Its spectral response is designed to closely match the human eye. The STK36C61-A is suitable for detecting a wide range of light intensity environments. For proximity sensing, the STK36C61-A also integrates a photodiode, timing controller, and ADC on the same chip. Its spectral response is optimized for infrared light at 940nm. The device offers programmable current settings for driving the infrared LED and employs a noise cancellation scheme to highly suppress unwanted ambient infrared noise. The STK36C61-A features excellent temperature compensation and robust on-chip refresh rate settings without external components. A software shutdown mode is provided for power-saving applications. Its operating voltage range is 1.7V to 1.98V.
