Introduction

PIR motion and presence detectors are suitable for a wide range of applications, including hotel room energy-saving units, corridor lighting control (hotels, offices, and hospitals), offices, swimming pools, schools, staircase lighting control, and more. A variety of types are available, including models for indoor or outdoor installation with different mounting options (e.g., surface mounting, flush mounting, wall mounting, ceiling mounting, etc.). Some models feature specific interfaces (e.g., DALI, KNX), along with adjustable ambient light intervention thresholds, adjustable lighting-on time, and wide-angle detection. When powered by a 110–125 V AC supply, ratings (AC1, AC15, and lamp load) must be derated by 50%.
