Introduction

The 24PC Series miniature SMT low pressure sensors offer a compact, cost-effective solution for wet/wet differential pressure sensing. Building on the proven reliability and accuracy of the 24PC miniature pressure sensor DIP package, the SMT version's smaller footprint reduces PCB board space, thereby lowering overall PCB size and cost. These sensors can be board-mounted alongside other common SMT components, helping to eliminate secondary board mounting operations and improve production efficiency. The sensors employ proven sensing technology using a specialized piezoresistive micromachined sensing element for high performance, reliability, and accuracy. Each sensor contains four active piezoresistors forming a Wheatstone bridge. When pressure is applied, the resistance changes and the sensor provides a millivolt output signal proportional to the input pressure. The low-power 24PC sensors are designed to measure pressures from ±1 psi to ±15 psi over an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C [-40°F to 185°F]. The 24PC sensors can be excited by either constant current or constant voltage. When driven by constant current, the terminal voltage of the pressure sensor rises with increasing temperature. This voltage rise not only provides temperature compensation for the full-scale span, but also indicates the sensor's temperature. These sensors are compatible with a variety of wet and dry media compatible with polyphthalamide (PPA) plastic and the media seals specified in the Nomenclature and Ordering Guide. The 24PC sensors are RoHS compliant and are designed and manufactured to ISO 9001 standards.
