Introduction

KP276D1201 is a small digital pressure sensor IC based on the capacitive principle. It uses surface micromachining technology and integrates a monolithic signal conditioning circuit implemented in BiCMOS technology. The sensor converts pressure into a 12-bit digital value and transmits data via the SENT protocol (SAE J2716, April 2016 revision). An interface for an external negative temperature coefficient (NTC) temperature sensor is also provided. The temperature information from the NTC is likewise digitized to a 12-bit value and transmitted via the SENT protocol. A special safety feature is the integrated diagnostic mode, which allows testing of the sensor element as well as the signal path. This diagnostic is triggered by powering up the device. The IC is housed in a "green" media-resistant SMD package. The sensor is primarily intended for manifold air pressure measurement but can also be used in other application areas. The high accuracy, high sensitivity, and safety features of this device make it well suited for advanced automotive applications as well as industrial and consumer applications.
