Introduction

The integrated circuit silicon sensor chip is packaged in a standard TO-8 electrical package suitable for PCB mounting. Using the latest micromachining technology, piezoresistive strain gauges are ion-implanted into a Wheatstone bridge structure formed integrally on a micromachined silicon diaphragm. Like all NovaSensor silicon sensors, the NPH series employs SenStable processing technology to deliver excellent output stability. The sensor operates with constant-current excitation, producing a voltage output linearly proportional to the applied pressure. Standard signal conditioning circuitry can be provided by the user to amplify the 100mV output signal. The sensor is compatible with most non-corrosive gases and dry air. A laser-trimmed thick-film resistor network on a hybrid ceramic substrate provides temperature compensation.
